Are classic Coke red plastic bottle caps recyclable?

The cap may be similar to those used on other beverages bottled by Coke but I only drink the classic. Please provide a source for how you know either they are or are not recyclable. A secondary and possibly more detailed answer could include why they are not, if in fact they aren't.
So far I only see the requirement for leaving lids off is because of the fact that the cap is designed to withstand a lot of pressure and this makes the bottle much more difficult to recycle. Sometimes it is eluded that it MAY contain a different type of plastic but no source so far has confirmed.

The recycle depot doesn't accept capped bottles , so no they aren't commercially recylceable
