ASUS G73SW-A2 – Is It Good Notebook?
Now, I would like to write about my personal experience of ASUS G73SW-A2. I was bought this laptop computer because I’m hard gamers and I go through loads of very good testimonials for it. Other reviewers have dealt with the basics about ram, video, etc. and mine arrived as promoted. I did not like the back pack, probably if I didn't mind looking like I have got a parachute on my back but absolutely no, not for me. The gaming mouse is nice, I'm big handed and it fits me pretty well and the application configurability is very good.
I'm presenting my criticism for many of the bloat ware that came on the ASUS G73SW-A2. Used pretty a bit of time yanking junk off of it and I repartitioned the drives so each drive is one volume. Upgrading all the drivers was a little of a pain but I frequently build desktops and servers so all this isn't a big deal to me. You'll find some good web site listings out there that describe all the ASUS bloat ware so you can figure out what's what, just do a lookup on ASUS laptop program.
However, ASUS G73SW-A2 rocks! I've had it for about a 30 days and it deals with everything I throw at it with no problems. Every day I write program and it deals with running list servers, design tools and development fits together with no sweat. Owning 16GB of memory and Intel Quad Core 740 along with the two big drives create work a dream. The cooling system is really inspired, even paying Crysis2 maxed out (that it deals with pretty well), the fans are noiseless and all the warmth is dumped out the back. Some have complained about the keyboard but I've not had any trouble with it so far and I am pounding it 8-10 hours 5-6 days a week. Some have complained concerning the trackpad but I hate trackpads so I just disable it, which anyway, ASUS made quite simple to do since they wisely added the enable/disable trackpad as handy of the FN keys, very handy.
ASUS G73SW-A2 is big and heavy and if you are interested in long battery life then this one is not for you. But if you are searching for the most powerful laptop for the cash then the ASUS G73SW-A2 is a great choice.
Would buying a laptop cooling pad help my Dell make less noise?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440. Everything about it is great except for the noisy fan. If I bought a laptop cooling pad like this one http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Notebook-Cooling-Pad-N100/dp/B001U3ZH7W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1259871255&sr=8-1, would it help in my goal of making my laptop a quieter machine? At this rate, when I take it to class, I'm afraid I'll get tons of dirty looks.
If the cooling pad won't work, is there anything inexpensive that I can do?
Have fan replaced before it fails. ~
HOW-TO: laptop cooler for under 5 dollars!!!!
